If you’re a single mother who has always wanted to start your own company, check out Single Moms University (SMU). Starting late September, the center will be offering Mogul Mom Business Bootcamp.

The program, which is free, consists of six, two-hour classes that cover a range of topics, including how to finance your business and how to write a basic business plan, “This is a great opportunity for single women in business to train and become business savvy in owning, operating, and expanding a business enterprise,” says Nicole Gates, executive director of Single Moms Memphis, Inc.

The first class of graduates completed the program over the summer. The idea is to foster continuing education opportunities through SMU’s many collaborative partners.

The Single Moms University offers free or low-cost classes every Saturday at their campus, located at 2579 Thousand Oaks. Childcare is available upon request
