Education Zones

Daddy Zone

This zone is focused on Dad! Dads-to-be learn all about the “baby journey,” as told through eyes of a father. Dads can strap on a “pregnancy belly” and run the Daddy Obstacle Course to compete for special prizes. Or let mom snap a picture on her phone to show her friends! Families Matter-Dynamic Dad Workshops is the sponsor of this zone and will be on hand to give out great information on how to care for crying babies and crying moms, as well as how to cope with this new phase of your life.

Breast-feeding Zone

Staffed by area lactation consultants and healthcare professionals, this is the place where expectant and new moms can learn about the advantages of breast-feeding, how to get started, and resources within the community for continued help and support.  Breastfeeding 101, an informative mini seminar, will be repeated several times throughout the day with Q&A sessions following each seminar. Check our website and Facebook page in March for scheduled times. All moms who attend the mini seminar will be eligible to sign up for special door prizes. This zone is sponsored by the Shelby County Breastfeeding Coalition.

Pediatric Zone

Sponsored by Peds East, this zone will offer information on topics ranging from “How to Pick a Pediatrician” to “First Weeks Home,” “Immunizations,” and more. Pediatricians and nurses will be on hand to answer questions throughout the day and will also participate in the “Peds Panel Q&A” on the main stage at 1:30pm. Questions for the pediatricians can be submitted through our Facebook page: Mid-South Baby Expo.

Infant Safety Zone

Sponsored by Mid-South Safe Kids, this zone will be staffed by area experts providing information on home, car and baby safety. You will learn how to prepare your home, install your car seat, and other ways to keep your baby safe.  Car seat safety demos will be available throughout the day and times will be announced from the Main Stage. A Main Stage demo will be presented at 11:30 a.m.  Participates visiting the Safety Zone for the demos will be able to sign up for special door prizes.

Sibling / Kids Zone

Sponsored by Kindermusik and Usborne Books this will be an area where big brothers and sisters can come have some fun! Games, prizes, stickers, and information for parents on handling the big transition will be available.

Other Activities
