5k race to benefit Le Bonheur Children's Hospital

Money raised will provide medical assistance

When sick children arrive at Le Bonheur Children’s Hospital, their siblings now have a special place to go, the Forrest Spence Sibling Playroom. David and Brittany Spence made this cheery space possible. It was created in honor of their son, Forrest, who died 55 days after birth.

Now, the couple head up the Forrest Spence Fund, a nonprofit that assists in the nonmedical needs of children and their families. The Forrest Spence 5K race is a fundraiser for the nonprofit. The race takes place Saturday, August 25th, at the East Parkway Pavilion at Overton Park.
